Chubby Bunny and Kitty

We just came back from a fun weekend at some cabins in Bear, Idaho that belong to a friend of ours! We had fun hiking and hanging out with our friends. The children all had lots of fun with this trip. They played a lot with the small mounds of snow still left over from the winter. Our friends Monte & Misty (with their daughter Paige) and Jacob & Emily (with their two boys) came with us. On Saturday we played a fun game called Smear the Queer (I know, horrible name) in the deep mud pits around the camp site. Don opted out of the game because of his back. I have never played this game and it was so fun. We would throw the football to someone and whoever had the ball was to be chased and tackled by the others. I have never gotten so muddy in my entire life. We were covered head to toe. Every article of clothing was soaked. I definately would play this again! That night we also played a game of Chubby Bunny. Everyone would take turns and see how many marshmallows they could fit in their mouth and still be able to say "Chubby Bunny". I was reigning champion with 8 marshmallows. Don came a close second with 7 marshmallows. Nathan - who is always our boy who will store food in his cheeks with every meal like a chipmunk - managed to fit 2-3 large marshmallows at one time in his little mouth!
Nathan has a small stuffed animal kitty that he got years ago from Grandma Barzee. He accidentally left it at the cabins. Our friends brought it back and Nathan did not have his kitty all day Monday. He was so sweet about it. He talked about missing Kitty all day long and one point in the day he was distraught because Kitty was crying and he couldn't hold her. He was only consoled when he was told we could call Jen and make sure she was holding Kitty and helping her feel better. When I told my Mom about this she said that when I was a little girl they had to go out of their way to drive to a store in Twin Falls where I left my little doll. The things we parents do for our little children!
Shawn had fun in preschool this week. He learned how to make bread. He learned how to grind wheat and how to knead the bread. He thought the best part was when they got to eat their bread at the end. He is growing up to be such a sweet and smart boy. We are so very proud of him. He is a very helpful big brother. One day he put the pacifier in Becca's mouth and bounced her gently in her bouncer chair and helped her go to sleep. He was so proud of himself for being able to put his baby sister to sleep. I was very grateful!
